Meet Your Host

Nancy Sims wanted to learn how to Country Line Dance for a long time…

Recently divorced and on her own, she dusted herself off from the past, and decided it’s me time! One Thursday night, in August 2009, she went to Low Places in Lancaster PA – after the first set of lessons she was hooked! Not realizing it at the time, her wonderful new life had begun… in more ways than one! The very nice man that helped her learn the steps that night would turn out to be her future husband – Boots Sims, AKA: DJ Boots!

They became a great team; he played the music and she danced! In 2011, a local venue was searching for a DJ and line dance teacher… the perfect opportunity for DJ Boots & Nancy! In October of 2014, at the WIOV FallFest, Boots proposed to Nancy by planning a line dance flash mob. They married a year later on that very same dance floor at Low Places! They continued to DJ & teach line dancing. Noticing how overwhelmed some people got with the dance steps, Nancy decided to offer beginner line dance classes.

Sadly, in December 2020, Boots passed from COVID. On her own again, but with the love and support of her “line dance family”, Nancy continued to teach beginner line dancing and has upgraded to offering intermediate lessons. She is committed to making sure you learn the dances without being overwhelmed by offering step by step instruction sheets & sending out videos of the dances, so you always have something to refresh your memory.

Nancy is doing her part to keep line dancing alive in Lancaster County! She is often at The Sportsfarm (Lancaster County Sportsman Association). You can also find her on Facebook, where she advertises her events.
